This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) as well as slating March 5, 2015 as the first National Industrial Design Day by the U.S. Congressional Record. In accordance with the revelry of accomplishments by the IDSA, they have also officially implemented a robust new Board of Directors. John Barratt, president and CEO of TEAGUE, has taken the position of Chair of Board of Directors.
“Barratt has dedicated his time to building on the heritage of TEAGUE, which was founded in 1926 by industrial design icon Walter Dorwin Teague, FIDSA. Barratt also has strengthened TEAGUE’s partnerships with some of the world’s leading brands such as The Boeing Company, Microsoft, Samsung and Intel. He has pushed TEAGUE’s longstanding mission ‘to build a new and better world’ into the 21st century.”
Some other new members of IDSA’s Board of Directors include: Chapter Vice President Rebecca Alvord of GE Appliances; Secretary/Treasurer and IDSA Life member George Daniels of Daniels Development Group, LLC; At-Large Director Mieko Kusano of Sonos; and South District Vice President Chris Livaudais of inReality.
